Welcome to Tendring

Tendring is a sprawling village that gives it's name to the entire Tendring District. The naming of the district was not because Tendring Village offered more importence than the neighbouring towns and villages, moreso that it is located centrally in this peninsular found to the East of Colchester. Tendring parish includes the settlements of Goose Green, Tendring Green and Tendring Heath.

The main road through is the B1035 and this connects Tendring to Manningtree to the North and Thorpe-le-Soken and the village of Weeley to the South. As with many of our quaint semi-rural towns you will find an excellent and sought after primary school here and a regular bus route through the village (Colchester to Clacton-on-Sea).

Off the main thoroughfares are some really lovely private roads and what we love about Tendring (despite being rural) is the diversity of the housing stock. In 'The Street' you'll find a wealth of period and Victorian homes, yet at Parsonage Lane modern executive housing and off the beaten track for example at Pilcox Hall Lane you'll find a selection of bungalows clustered together all making the most their countryside setting.

Tendring is home to the Bicycle pub and restaurant.
